By Keith | To start off the semester, we reviewed the elements and principles of art with a focus on color. After studying color, including color schemes, color relationships, and the color wheel in general, the Advanced Art students came up with their own creative color wheels. The assignment was to design a piece that displayed their knowledge of the six basic color wheel colors, including the three primaries and three secondaries. |
This piece by Katie really blew me away! No pun intended. By Katie The students started with a sketch in their Visual Journals and then started their final piece on watercolor paper. For an extra challenge, the students had the option to add the six tertiary colors as well. I think they're pretty amazing and I hope you do too! I was in the middle of painting a copy of a F. Frazzetta painting & I stumbled on a formula for making silver.
