Advanced 2D Art
Dear Students and Parent/Guardians,
Welcome to Advanced 2D Art! Please take the time as a family to read over all of the rules and procedures for my classroom. Here’s to a great semester of art!

Expectations for students
Be RESPECTFUL
Because you have successfully completed 2D Art, you will now be trusted with more privileges and responsibility. Therefore, you will be expected to work more independently and create works of art at a higher quality. You will also be required to visit an art display outside of school, complete a research project, and create a culminating final project displaying advanced skills (more details to come).
Grading
Grading will be done according to individual and group projects, class work, and minimal homework. The projects will be graded on effort, ability to follow directions, and understanding and application of techniques as well as elements and principles of art and design. Completed projects will usually be submitted through canvas, but a hard copy may be requested for certain projects. Homework may be assigned occasionally. If it is not turned in by the due date, a homework intervention will be given. Daily participation will be given as 2 LAB points per day. The LAB points will be given if student follows classroom rules and project directions, helps clean up, stays on task and puts forth best effort every day.
Consequences
When a rule is broken, 1-2 warnings will be given and then LAB points will be taken. The consequences will get increasingly more severe, such as a call/E-mail home, a lunch detention, or a referral to the principal.
Webpage
We have a class webpage that will be updated throughout the year so that you may keep up with what we are doing in class. There will be pictures of students and their work on the site; if you are not comfortable with their pictures being on the site, please E-mail me at [email protected]. Visit our site at www.weaverart.weebly.com!
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to E-mail me at [email protected].
Thank you and I look forward to a wonderful semester with you/your child!
